BURNT OUT WRECK

Debut album ‘Swallow’

'Swallow' lyric video: https://youtu.be/rX_BZmd7LSI

The debut album from ex Heavy Pettin's Gary Moat & Burnt Out Wreck was released Spring 2017.

'Swallow' is a huge slice of full on, punchy classic hard rock with guitar riffs galore! Released on TRHRC through Cherry Red Records, this album is every bit as good as you would expect from one of Scotland's original rock n rollers, Gary Moat.

'Swallow' is co-produced by Gary Moat and Steve Rispin (Asia, Inglorious), mastered by Pete Maher

(U2, The Killers, Jack White, Rolling Stones etc.) and is set for a February 2017 release.

QUOTES:

“Moat proves that neither he nor his band mates live up their moniker, but are a re-energised

musical force. One of the highlight sets of the weekend”.

HRH – UBER ROCK – MARK ASHBY 18/11/17

“These guys play a raunchy, groove laden melodic rock sound. Drawing on the recently released album, Moat demonstrated why these guys merit a shot on the bigger stage with his superb voice”. ROCK POSER

“Classic 80’s style classic rock at its best with these guys”.

MY GLOBAL MIND

“This damn find hard rock, unashamedly pre-nineties and all the better for it”.

ROCKTOPIA

“It’s the kind of album that just sticks in your psyche as you spin it while not totally concentrating. You find yourself coming back to it time and time again”.

DECIBELGEEK

“Gary is the vocalist of Burn Out Wreck and for a man who plied his trade as a drummer, he has one of the best rock voices I’ve heard for years. If you love Classic

Hard Rock mixed with some Southern Blues and you have a hankering for AC/DC, UFO, Rhino Bucket,

and Thunder that’s brilliant played, with chorus’s catchier than chlamydia, and some lyrics straight

out of the David Coverdale book of sexual innuendo, then Burnt Out Wreck are going to have you dribbling in places you didn’t know dribbled. Welcome back, Gary. Even if you are annoyingly talented.”

EVER METAL

“This is a hugely enjoyable album that can be consumed in large quantities”. MOSHVILLE TIMES

BIOGRAPHY:

For Burnt Out Wreck, Gary Moat has traded the back in the day drum stool for the microphone and the opportunity to front his own, unpretentious old school, classic guitar-rock outfit.

Following the disbandment of Scottish rockers Heavy Pettin, Gary kept himself busy by writing songs and performing and developing his vocal style with, first, Mother’s Ruin (who rose from the late 80s ashes of Heavy Pettin in 1991) and, latterly, Burnt Out Wreck.

Mother’s Ruin had a few years’ hiatus until 2011 when the band supported Duff McKagan and played both HRH Ibiza and the Bulldog Bash, to great review and interest.

In 2014 Gary concentrated even more on song writing.

Mother’s Ruin morphed in to studio project Burn Out Wreck (and 2017’s attention grabbing debut album Swallow) before becoming a fully-fledged, high-energy guitar band in their own rock and roll right, featuring Gary (songwriter, vocals, guitars, studio drums), fellow Scott Alex Carmichael (La Paz) on bass, rhythm and lead guitarist Miles Goodman and drummer Paul Gray.

The band have since performed a large number of headline shows, added more fans through significant support slots (Pete Way Band, Anvil among many others) and played extremely well-received sets at notable events including Bon Fest, The Great British Rock and Blues Festival and WinterStorm (the latter to a set ending crowd chant of “one more song!”).

2019’s This is Hell, featuring the dark-edged title track and the rock and roll fun of ‘Paddywack’ (both released as singles), was an even bigger and better received album; music journalists and music reviewers waxed lyrical in the most positive of rock voices.

While compared frequently to Bon Scott and Marc Storace, which he takes as the highest voiced compliment, Gary has his own imitable vocal style, which suits the high energy, rock and roll swagger and anthemic nature of the Burnt Out Wreck songs.

In short, Rock Ain’t Dead, it just has a different name.
