Brix and the Extricated, The Cookie, Leicester - 11th November 2017

Brix and the Extricated were fully charged from the moment they set foot on stage. Good set, including two brilliant encores in Totally Wired and Mister Pharmacist. First time we've seen them, definitely won't be the last.

Brix and the Extricated, The Cookie, Leicester - 11th November 2017

The cookie is not the best venue however this did not take anything away from the fact that Brix/Band put on a really solid show with great new Extricated and old Fall songs mixed together for a perfect Saturday night....Brix is a superstar in a sparkly punky lovable way.
Good support bands as well enjoyed both of em'

Brix and the Extricated, London Oslo, London - 3rd November 2017

History is littered with "rock-chicks" who tried far too hard to show us how much attitude they had. Brix doesn't try at all; she was simply born to front a band. The fire, anger and excitement are simply what she is.
Behind her, almost in the dark, are the Hanley brother. Two musicians who have nothing to prove and know it. Their rhythms do all the talking: "this is why we're called the greatest rhythm section in history."
The mixture of Fall classics and new material is just right, and the two fit well together. If you can remember The Fall in their heyday and cant stand to see the shadow they now are, this is the band to give you back the will to live.

Formed by former members of The Fall, Brix and the Extricated is made up of Brix Smith-Start (born Laura Elisse Salenger), Steve Hanley, Paul Hanley, Steve Trafford and Jason Brown. Having first started out using material of The Fall which they had written and therefore had ownership of, they are now committed to producing new material and are deep underway into writing a new album.

They describe their new album as “a cross between PiL’s Metal Box and Blondie” which is expected to be released later in the year.

Showcasing their new music, they hit the road in November 2017 to play a number of exciting headline shows. See them play at London Oslo, The Cellar Bar at Oxford, Newhampton Arts Centre, Bristol Thekla, cool Nottingham club The Bodega, The Cookie at Leicester and Manchester Academy 3 later in the year.

Brix and the band; powerful, punchy punk with the spirit of Manchester running right to the core!” - Louder Than War

Brix’s bright yet gritty vocals soar impressively atop the sonic juggernaut driven by Steve Hanley’s merciless basslines. New offering “Something To Lose” bodes well for future output.” - Hot Press Magazine
