By inviting composers rooted in the metal scene to write directly for an orchestra, Bright & Black creates a groundbreaking soundscape that combines the raw intensity of metal with the rich, cinematic textures of classical instrumentation.
The project features an impressive roster of contributors, including Fredrik Åkesson (Opeth), Erik Danielsson (Watain), Nico Elgstrand (Entombed AD), and Tomas Haake and Dick Lövgren (Meshuggah). Together, they craft a dynamic and innovative sound, blending the thunderous energy of metal with the grandeur and depth of orchestral music.
