Bricknasty is an exciting collective from Ballymun, Dublin, known for their genre-blending sound that draws from R&B, jazz-rap, neo-soul, and street poetry. Formed in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown as a studio project, the group quickly gained attention for their eclectic musical style and energetic live performances. The band features vocalist and guitarist Fatboy, drummer Korey Thomas, saxophonist/keyboardist Louis Younge, and bassist Dara Abdurahman, alongside producer Cillian McCauley.
Their debut EP Ina Crueler in 2023 received critical acclaim for its introspective themes, while their follow-up mixtape Xongz in 2024 showcased the band’s ability to mix funk, jazz, and psychedelic influences with a raw, emotional edge. Known for their live performances at major Irish festivals and venues like The Sugar Club, Bricknasty has also supported artists like Maverick Sabre and performed at events like Eurosonic and Cork Jazz Festival.
