Combining the considerable talents of star songwriters Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, boygenius is the indie rock supergroup you need to see! The three critically acclaimed musicians gave themselves the wry title after all being described as “women in rock” despite their very disparate sound and styles.
boygenius were formed “by accident” when friendship and mutual appreciation led to jamming sessions, before writing original material and becoming an actual band. Enthused by the shared energy, they would write, record and self-produce their opening statement boygenius EP in just four days.
Critically acclaimed and welcomed by many listeners, the initial success of the boygenius EP would spur the trio on to continue working together, performing live and released debut studio album The Record in 2023.
