Betty Taylor are an indie rock band from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Fronted by Sophie Patrick (vocals) and Kayla Smart (AKA Dorah Jacson) on guitar/harmonies, with Claire Chittick on bass and Katie Ishaque on drums, their sound combines indie hooks and witty, heartfelt lyrics, dreamy guitar riffs and tight harmonies. They signed with Hello Gardener in late 2022, releasing their debut single “Stallin’” that same year, followed by “Glitter” (2023), “Can’t Get Enough” and “Young Dumb Immature” – tracks that have earned them growing attention on Australian radio, streaming playlists and indie scenes.
Since their formation, Betty Taylor have played alongside established acts like Hayley Mary, Holy Holy and girl in red. They toured nationally across Australia, performing headline shows and supporting larger tours, while also earning recognition at festivals such as Groovin the Moo and Big Pineapple, and nominations/wins at regional music awards. Their breakout EP Young Dumb Immature (released in 2024) has extended their reach overseas, helped by strong playlist placements and international radio interest.
