bed are a Tokyo four-piece who have carved out a singular place in Japan's underground, blending punk, techno, pop and classic rock into a sound that refuses to sit still. Formed in 2021 by founder Sinji and vocalist Une out of a shared frustration with the mainstream music industry, the band built their following the DIY way — most famously through bedroom, their own Tokyo club night, where hundreds pack in to hear rock reimagined as dance music.
Their debut EP, 円相 | Enso (2026), captures that restless spirit across eight tracks, from the clattering rhythms of "風 | Kaze" to the techno-punk of its title track. bed have since carried their gung-ho energy well beyond Japan, playing Brighton's The Great Escape and completing a sold-out UK headline tour, with airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music along the way. Genre-defying by design and thrilling to see live, they are one of the most exciting new bands to break out of Tokyo.
