Manchester lad Barry Adamson joined seminal post punk band Magazine in the late 70’s who would release seminal single Shot By Both Sides. His career also saw him temporarily join fellow Manchester punk band Buzzcocks plus contributing to the work of New Romantic band Visage.

Following the collapse of Magazine, Adamson would link up with Nick Cave to join the Bad Seeds to appear on the four album From Her to Eternity, The Firstborn Is Dead, Kicking Against the Pricks and Your Funeral, My Trial.

His stint with Nick Cave sufficiently raised his profile and saw him strike out as a solo artist, releasing seminal first solo album Moss Side Story. The critically acclaimed album showed just how diverse this complicated and skilled musician could be.
He has subsequently released ten studio albums including the Mercury Music Prize nominated Soul Murder in 1992, and his latest release Know Where To Run in 2016.
