Portuguese fado singing sensation António Zambujo plays live. An excellent composer as well as a superb performer. He is one of the great talents of our time. Highly regarded, Zambujo has won the Amália Rodrigues Foundation prize for the best male fado singer.
Antonio Zambujo showed an interest in music from a very early age, however his real passion lay with fado music. Showing a rare talent early on, he won a regional fado contest at the age of sixteen.
His career really took off after lauded guitarist and composer, Mário Pacheco, invited him to sing at his Clube de Fado. However, his time there proved to be short lived after passing the audition for a main role in the blockbuster musical ‘Amália’. The strenuous tour saw the singer performing continually for four years giving him the chance to build his name whilst developing his talent and stage presence even further.
In 2002 Zambujo released his first album O mesmo Fado and saw him win the prestigious Radio Nova FM award for Best new Fado Voice. His other work includes the 2004 album Por meu Cante, his 2007 third album Outro sentido which signified the development of a more mature sound and the massively popular songs featured on Quinto, released in 2012.
Antonio Zambujo tickets are on sale now.
Make sure you go see his fantastic live performance when he headlines Union Chapel in London on Tuesday 29th of November.
