Last summer saw the release of Ann’s debut album, ‘Clever Rabbits’ which draws its title from a Chinese idiom — “clever rabbits need three burrows” — referencing recurring imagery found in both Devon’s churches and Chinese cave art, creating a symbol of triad, of a whole. Recorded with producer Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne), and released on indie label Man Made Tigers, they blend Anglo-Celtic-Chinese folk and digital synthesis with her classical singer-songwriter grounding, making for a poetic and adventurous debut. Following the indie success of the record, Ann retreated into the landscape of her home county and came out the other side with a whole new sound. Ann brings brand new music to Nottingham for a very special show of spooky Anglo-pop and folk in a Wicker Man-meets-Twin Peaks universe.

Thomaz Martin is celebrating the brand new release of his debut album, ‘Nostalgia For Modern Times’; also released by Man Made Tigers.

A session musician by trade, Martin cut his teeth and calloused his fingertips playing in Brazilian jazz ensembles across the capital, before releasing his first EP ‘Heart Murmur’ recorded and released onto tape.

His swamp-rock debut album which came out June this year sees the Brazilian born blending Hendrix sensibilities and Cobain faux-grunge with swooning folk-pop. Recorded with Gus White in the moonraker county of Wiltshire, songs from Nostalgia For Modern Times makes for a set full of swagger and sincerity.

They will be performing their songs together and solo, and joined by special guests.
