Allen Valleys Folk Festival is an annual three-day celebration of folk music, dance, and community arts, held in Allendale, Northumberland. Established in 2014, the festival has grown into a much-loved event, attracting folk artists and audiences from across the UK. Organised by Allen Valleys Community Arts, the festival showcases a diverse mix of live performances, traditional dance displays, and interactive workshops, all set against the backdrop of the beautiful North Pennines.
A highlight of the festival is the burning of a wooden sculpture representing the legendary Allendale Wolf, a spectacular community tradition taking place in Allendale Market Square on Saturday evening. Past editions have featured artists such as Jordan Aikin and Quercus, alongside a lineup of emerging and established folk musicians. The festival also offers a range of workshops, allowing attendees to engage with folk crafts and traditions.
