Alabaster DePlume is the stage name of Manchester-born musician, poet and composer Angus Fairbairn. A distinctive voice in the UK’s experimental jazz scene, he brings together warm saxophone melodies, folk-like simplicity and spoken-word reflection to create music that feels intimate, generous and quietly powerful.
To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol. 1 helped introduce a wider audience to his meditative instrumental writing, while later releases including Gold – Go Forward in the Courage of Your Love and Come With Fierce Graceexpanded his reputation for open-hearted, collaborative music. On stage, DePlume’s performances often feel part concert, part gathering, drawing audiences into a shared space of humour, vulnerability and deep listening.
