Aerial Salad are a punk trio from Manchester, formed in 2016 by guitarist/vocalist Jamie Munro, bassist Mike ‘Wimbo’ Wimbleton, and drummer Mike Marshall. Originally brought together by the ambition to perform at Florida’s FEST, they quickly carved a name for themselves within the UK punk scene.
Their debut album Roach (2017) established their raw, DIY sound and led to tours with the likes of Beach Slang and Wonk Unit. With 2020’s Dirt Mall, Aerial Salad built on this momentum, delivering a tighter, more confident record that solidified their presence across UK venues and festivals.
In 2022 they released R.O.I. via Venn Records – a record that marked a clear evolution. While still rooted in punk, it drew on Manchester’s musical heritage, incorporating elements of post-punk and ‘Madchester’, citing influences like Happy Mondays and XTC. Tracks such as “The Same 24 Hours (As Beyoncé)” and “Tied to Pieces of Paper” showcase this shift in style and tone.
Known for their raucous live shows, Aerial Salad blend heart-on-sleeve lyricism with snarling guitars and biting social commentary, continuing to push their sound with every release.
