Adebisi Shank are an instrumental rock trio from Ireland, known for their explosive energy, futuristic soundscapes, and genre-blending approach. Formed in 2006, the band—comprising Lar Kaye (guitar), Vin McCreith (bass), and Mick Roe (drums)—quickly gained a reputation for their math-rock precision, electronic influences, and exhilarating live performances. Their music fuses elements of post-rock, electronic, punk, and prog, drawing comparisons to acts like Battles, And So I Watch You From Afar, and Fang Island, yet remaining entirely their own.
Their self-titled debut album, This Is the Album of a Band Called Adebisi Shank (2008), introduced their vibrant, high-energy sound, followed by This Is the Second Album of a Band Called Adebisi Shank (2010), which expanded their sonic palette with synth-driven, euphoric melodies. Their third - and at the time final - release, This Is the Third Album of a Band Called Adebisi Shank (2014), pushed even further into sci-fi inspired electronic textures and anthemic compositions before the band disbanded later that year. Adebisi Shank left an enduring impact on the experimental rock scene, influencing countless bands and solidifying their status as one of Ireland’s most innovative musical exports. The band made their much-awaited return in 2025.
