About Union J
The hugely popular boy band Union J are back on tour and hitting a stage near you.
The band had originally consisted of Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley and calling themselves Triple J due to their shared initial. They were united after Cuthbert’s previous appearance on the talent competition television programme The X Factor.
The band auditioned on the ninth series of The X Factor, the same year in which George Shelley would also take part. After a dramatic turn of events, Shelley was to join the group which was renamed as Union J. Despite not winning the series, the boy band shot to fame and came to define the year’s programme.
Coming off the back of their X Factor television appearances the band released their debut self-titled album Union J in October of 2013. The amazing first record contained the massive singles Carry You which hit #6 in the UK Singles Chart, Beautiful Life and Loving You Is Easy.
The album was a massive success and saw the boys hit #6 in the UK Album Charts before the album was certified as Silver.
The boy band’s second album was released in December of 2014 through Epic Records and called You Got It All. The album features the smash hit singles Tonight (We Live Forever) hitting #9 in the charts which was bettered by the song You Got It All which hit #2, their best single chart position to date.
They are now joined by Casey Johnson following the departure of George Shelley.
Union J tickets will go on sale on Friday 27th of May at 09:00.
