THE SHOW               Legendary rock band The Who will be back on the road for their UK 2023 tour ‘The Who Hits Back!’ with a live orchestra. They will be playing in Hull, Edinburgh, London, Derby, Badminton, Durham, St Helens and Brighton from 6th-23rd July. Joining them will be UB40 featuring Ali Campbell across all shows except London & Edinburgh. The band are set to perform music from throughout their nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy & Quadrophenia as well as other beloved Who songs.

REFUNDS/EXCHANGES



  • We regret that exchanges and refunds are not available, except in the unlikely event that the concert is cancelled and an alternative date is not available


BUYING TICKETS ON THE DAY



  • If there are tickets available, the Box Office at the venue will be open from 10:00am on the day of the concert. Tickets will be priced higher on the day.


AGE RESTRICTIONS



  • We advise that the event is not suitable for young children, especially those 5 years of age and under. Buggies are not permitted. 

  • There are no child discounts.

  • Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult 18+


SCHEDULE



  • Gates will open at 6:45pm

  • Please enter by Castle Hill

  • From here follow the signage around the venue to find the block, row and seat indicated on your ticket

  • Please allow plenty of time for your journey and for parking and transfer, as well as getting to your seat

  • The concert will end at approximately 10:30pm

RE-ENTRY



  • The venue will be operating a no re-entry policy. Once you have entered the venue you cannot exit and re-enter


ACCESSIBILITY



  • Accessibility Tickets

    • Accessibility tickets can be purchased via co.uk

    • People with disabilities are welcome at this venue and facilities exist for wheelchair users

    • There is a designated wheelchair viewing area located at the base of blocks 2, 3, 4 and 5

    • The arena also has an area for ambulant disabled patrons in blocks 12, 13, 14 and 15

    • Wheelchair users will receive one additional complimentary ticket for their companion to help escort into and out of the event arena

    • Please be advised that disabled and ambulant disabled tickets are limited, so we recommend booking early

    • We will always endeavour to allow a full party to sit together. However, due to capacity limits we cannot guarantee this at all times



  • Assistance Dogs

    • Assistance Dogs are allowed into the arena

    • Due reference will be given to all aspects of safety and guidance from Guide Dogs for the Blind to ensure safety within the arena



  • Access & Facilities for Disabled / Ambulant Disabled Guests

    • Access to the venue is via Castlehill - a steep, cobbled street, which is the only access route to the venue

    • In the majority of cases, those with disabled tickets will not have to join the main queuing system - please present your tickets at the first ticket check located beside The Hub (The Lawnmarket / bottom of Castlehill) for priority entry no later than 6:20pm

    • Should any wheelchair viewing area ticket holders or ticket holders with mobility difficulties wish to be dropped off in a vehicle at the entrance to the venue, please ensure this vehicle arrives at St Giles Street by 6.00pm at the latest to be directed by the stewards onto the Esplanade. The Vehicle MUST then be removed from the Esplanade by the bearer, returning to the Esplanade as instructed by the stewards after the performance end.

    • After this time, vehicles will not be granted access to drop off so please ensure you come in plenty of time

    • Cars must leave Castlehill by 6:30pm

    • Please also ensure you have your tickets ready to present to staff at barriers and co-operate with stewards, who are there to assist you

    • Please approach the venue via The Lawnmarket (from George IV Bridge / The Mound) and not via Johnston Terrace in order to gain vehicle access

    • Any wheelchair users who required to be picked up by vehicle at the venue will have a period of waiting until the audience has departed

    • We provide a guide time of 11pm, depending on crowds and as agreed by police

    • There are toilet facilities for disabled patrons available on the Esplanade

    • The venue does not offer the Hearing Loop System nor Infra-Red Hearing system



  • Accessible Parking

    • Please note there is no parking at Edinburgh Castle but we do allow vehicle access for disabled patrons to be dropped off until 6:30pm on show days (see above)

    • There is a limited amount of parking for Blue Badge Holders just off the Royal Mile at St Giles Street, EH1 1PT (first come, first served basis)

    • The nearest NCP Car Park is located on Castle Terrace, EH1 2EW

    • Please be advised there is a 5-10 minute uphill walk from this point to the entrance of the concert arena

    • If you experience any problems with the use of the accessible toilets, please contact the nearest steward

IS THE CONCERT SEATED?



  • Yes, the concert is fully seated in the stands and on the Castle esplanade

  • Seating is a majority tiered system - seating high in the grandstands is not recommended for those who suffer from vertigo or those with breathing difficulties or heart complaints


IS THE CONCERT OUTDOORS?



  • Yes so please come appropriately dressed in warm and waterproof clothing (as required) and wear study footwear


IF IT RAINS WILL THE CONCERT STILL GO AHEAD?



  • Yes, the concert will go ahead in the rain so please come prepared

  • Please bring clothing appropriate to expected weather conditions

  • Please note that there will NOT be a luggage storage or cloakroom facility at the venue


CAN I BRING A BAG?



  • Yes, but only one small bag (no bigger than A5 size) per person

  • Please note there will be no bag drop facilities at this event

  • All bags are subject to search so please avoid bringing one if you can as this will speed up your entry to the concert

  • If you have a medical condition such as diabetes, then a doctor’s note will permit diet-specific food and drink only

  • A very limited range of food and drink will be available to purchase at the venue


PHOTOGRAPHY



  • Please do not bring professional audio/visual recording equipment as these will not be permitted within the venue

  • Filming and flash photography is prohibited during the concert

  • Any cameras that are deemed ‘professional’ will be confiscated until the end of the concert

  • All items will be confiscated and may be passed to the Police to deal with further

  • Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry to the Stadium


SECURITY



  • Your bags will be checked and you may be subject to a search on entry to the stadium. This is for everyone’s safety and we ask that you remain patient and co-operate with security staff

  • We search everyone entering the venue and employ a range of other security measures in and around the site, some of which may not be visible

  • Each member of staff is here to ensure your comfort and safety. They have all been briefed to keep an eye open for anything unusual

  • Please arrive in good time as our enhanced security measures may mean that it might take a little longer to get into the venue

  • In order to make the screening process go as smoothly as possible, please keep all personal items to a minimum. Only small handbags and shoulder bags will be allowed into the venue

  • Please note that there will NOT be a luggage storage or cloakroom facility at the venue

  • The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the arena

  • Racial, homophobic or discriminatory abuse is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the arena

  1.       This event is for fans only and these special conditions are in place to ensure that tickets are purchased for personal use only and are not resold for profit and/or through unauthorised resale sites.
  2.       A strict limit of 6 tickets per person (and per household) per event applies. Any tickets purchased over this limit may be cancelled and invalidated (in which case you will be refunded).
