The Wave Pictures charming take on alternative rock has been thrilling fans for quarter of a century.
Formally from Wymeswold, Leicestershire, the band are now based in London and include members David Tattersall (vocals / guitar), Franic Rozycki (bass) and Johnny 'Huddersfield' Helm (drums).
They began by self-releasing their records and have released nineteen studio albums to date including latest title When the Purple Emperor Spreads.

It's been too many years since I'd seen The Wave Pictures, so it was great to catch them at Firebug. I brought along a work colleague, now happily converted to the Church of Wymeswold. A great evening, gents!

A homecoming gig of sorts - in their home county of Leicestershire. They were excellent and by rights should be massive.
