Love On The Rock presents The Wailers + Trevor Nelson Soul Nation + Kofi Stone

Love On The Rock is a new series of events across the south east coast celebrating love, music and culture.

In this day and age where there is so much division we want more events to bring people together with the right message. And to open what act better to transcend the love than The Wailers.

Embark on an extraordinary musical journey with The Wailers in 2025 as they commemorate the 30th anniversary of their acclaimed compilation album, Natural Mystic.

The Legend Lives On. Following the success of their 2024 tour, which honoured Bob Marley’s celebrated album Legend, The Wailers are set to bring the entirety of Natural Mystic to life on stage, offering fans a unique and immersive experience.

Under the skilled leadership of Aston Barrett Jr., son of the legendary Aston Familyman Barrett, The Wailers continue to preserve and enrich their timeless sound, bringing fresh energy and charisma to their electrifying performances.

Very special guests are Trevor Nelson with his inimitable Soul Nation and up and coming rapper Kofi Stone.

Much-loved DJ and presenter Trevor Nelson MBE brings Soul Nation bak to Hastings– with an evening of classic soul and RnB club anthems from the 80s, 90s and 00s.

As a champion of urban music, Nelson has built a reputation for bringing soul, RnB and hip-hop to a wider audience. Nelson started presenting the first national RnB radio show on BBC Radio 1 – ‘The Rhythm Nation’ in 1996, which he still heads up now on BBC Radio 2 alongside his weekly RnB show on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

With Soul Nation, Nelson does what he does best, spinning soul and RnB classics from the 80s until now.

And opening the show is soon-to-legendary Kofi Stone.

Inspired by his Grandad’s poetry, Kofi has had an advanced taste from as early as he can remember, free-styling and writing whenever he had the chance. A musical diet of Lupe Fiasco, Common, Kano and Sway further sparked his fascination with hip-hop which later led his father to introduce him to an engineer who organised Kofi’s very first studio session.

2017 saw the release of his debut single "Stories In Pyjamas", soon followed by "Nothin’ Ain't Free", which quickly positioned him as one of the most exciting emerging artists that year. With a growing fanbase, multiple sold-out headline shows and relationships built in all the right places, his debut project Nobody Cares Till Everybody Does was proof that Kofi had arrived. The record was independently released via his label Tru Community and featured BRIT-nominated musician Loyle Carner and Irish songwriter, Maverick Sabre. Kofi has since toured with Loyle Carner, graced the stage at festivals across the world, and joined forces with the likes of Jacob Banks, Mr Jukes & Barney Artist and Tiana Major9.

Kofi released his highly anticipated second album A Man After God’s Own Heart in October 2024, marking his first full-length release following his 2019 debut project. The record stands as his most vulnerable work to date, exploring profound themes of love, faith, family and race, weaving a narrative that reveals both struggle and resilience. Standout tracks include "May Sound Crazy" featuring the late great Benjamin Zephaniah, the hard hitting "Black Joy", and the Tom Misch produced "Lavender". Kofi is now on the precipice of greatness and we can expect a big year for him in 2025.
