Artist Bio

South Yorkshire act the Reytons deliver a heavily accented, down to earth style of indie rock.

With members originating from both Sheffield and Doncaster, the quartet came together in 2017 after chance meetings at open-mike nights and recording studios. Vocalist and lyricist Jonny Yerrell and bassist Lee Holland recruited Joe O'Brien on lead guitar and Sean O'Connor on drums. Soon after the release of their quirky and mouthy debut EP, It Was All So Monotonous - O'Connor was replaced by Jamie Todd. Within months, they'd reinforced their canon of tales of working-men's clubs, cheap nights out, and children out late playing, with November 2017's Kids off the Estate EP. Alcopops & Charity Shops followed in August 2018 and -- by the release of the summer 2019 stand-alone single "Wide Eyes and Halos" -- not only had their first three EPs accumulated half-a-million online streams, but they'd also sold-out a prestigious hometown gig at Sheffield's Leadmill. Late 2019's "Retro Emporium" and early-2020s "Headache" acted as stopgaps before the band teased material from what would ultimately become their fourth EP, February 2021's May Seriously Harm You and Others Around You EP. Many of the tracks from the EP would feature on their debut album, Kids off the Estate, which they dropped later the same year.
