The Mavericks, O2 Apollo Manchester, Manchester - 10th February 2018
Our tickets arrived quickly (and after several hrs searching the internet "Gigantic" had the best seats) The Mavericks were absolutely amazing and very entertaining...never seen anyone rock a squeezebox before. They interacted with their audience as well before & after the show, shaking hands & taking selfies with people. They also sang happy birthday to 1 avid fan which was lovely and sang another song in memory of all the people who were killed by gunfire, which apparently they do at every concert to continue the awareness of guns. Although you could hear a pin drop, it didn't dampen the mood at all....the song was sung beautifully so big thumbs up for that gesture. The place was a bit dated, but hey "it's an old building!" The place was easy to find & we got parked easily (although we did get there mega early) Only downsides were, the bar/drinks were expensive & the car park was £7. I had some questions regarding the venue so I checked the FAQ's....nothing! So I tried to contact "The Manchester Apollo" to ask my questions...the number listed takes you to ticket master which was no help at all.
Overall a fantastic time, the atmosphere was great with most people up dancing... we were on such a high our 2hr journey home, singing to Mavericks cd all the way.

The Mavericks, O2 Apollo Manchester, Manchester - 10th February 2018
I have been a fan of The Mavericks since I heard them on the radio back in 1992 and I have every album they have made including the ones the Raul Malo made as a solo artist. Raul Malo was in fine voice at this concert and the band played brilliantly. However, this concert was billed as the 20th anniversary of the album Trampoline so I was expecting a few songs from that album. However, the only song from that album they played was Dance the night away. There were a couple of songs from previous albums and then a few covers of other artist. I can't fault the band in any way for their sound, they were brilliant and performed for over 2 hours. A great concert in a great atmosphere but the song list let it down for me.

two and a quarter hours of sheer brilliance. Apollo Manchester is my favorite concert venue with a great atmosphere and The Mavericks raised the roof with their performance
