About Scott Weiland
Scott Weiland (Velvet Revolver/The Stone Temple Pilots) has announced a headline date at The Garage in London for 28th October.
Weiland is renewed for fronting Stone Temple Pilots, with whom he recorded 'Core' (1992), 'Purple' (1994), 'Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop' (1996), 'No. 4' (1999), 'Shangri-La Dee Da' (2001) and 'Stone Temple Pilots' (2010). Fronted by Weiland the band won an MTV Video Music Award, an American Music Award and a Grammy Award. The band originally split in 2002 before reunited in 2008, but in 2013 Weiland and the group parted ways.
Scott Weiland was also a member of the supergroup Velvet Revolver, which featured Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. With the band Weiland released two albums 'Contraband' (2004) and 'Libertad' (2007). The supergroup won a Grammy Award and a Kerrang! Award at the start of their short career and Weiland departed from the band in April 2008.
Outside of Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots acts Weiland has also worked with Camp Freddy, Doug Grean, The Wondergirls, Limp Bizkit and has released a handful of solo records. Scott Weiland's first solo release came in 1998 with '12 Bar Blues' and another solo effort was released a decade later titled 'Happy in Galoshes' (2008). Weiland has also released a few compilation albums as a solo artist including a Christmas covers album in 2011 called ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’.
