About Quasar and Solstice
A unique blend of rock and classical, with music and songs that are both epic and emotional.
That’s Quasar! QUASAR was formed in 1979 by founder Keith Turner. They found themselves to be amongst a movement of British bands during the early 1980s, including Marillion, Pendragon, Twelfth Night, Solstice and Pallas, that continued in the progressive rock style created by 1970s bands such as Genesis and Yes. Though there have been line-up changes over the years, Quasar is still producing music. They are currently working on a new album for release.
Solstice are a UK progressive band fusing elements of rock, folk, funk, jazz and blues, who after many years of music creation and the release of 2020 album ‘Sia’, find themselves at the forefront of the UK live scene with their music much in demand from fans and promoters alike. A story that began in the legendary Marquee Club in London’s Wardour Street, Reading and Glastonbury Festivals and many others along the way, finally arrives at the chapter journalist Martin Kietly describes as “Solstice becoming the band they were always meant to be” With six highly rated studio albums to their name and another releasing this year, those in the know agree that as a live act Solstice are at the top of their game. Lovers of all flavours of music, having experienced Solstice live, keep coming back for more.
