Surprising but very good.
I went to see Punky Meadows & Frank Dimino of Angel playing at Rock City and somewhat surprised to find the show had been downsized into the RC Basement, obviously due to the lack of ticket sales. Never been in the Basement before, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a 'pub' sized hall holding about 200 people, which made a very cosy atmosphere. A good view from everywhere and the sound, whilst not as clear as upstairs, was still very clean. The bands (Heavy Pettin' & the Angel guys) gave an excellent performance considering the smaller stage, which was a little cramped for 6 players and kit maybe. The Americans seemed a little unsure when they appeared, but 2 tracks in they got into their stride and gave a brilliant show considering the smaller crowd than expected. I'll be back to the Basement without a doubt at some point in the future...
