Information

MILES DAVIS "Birth of the Cool" performed by MARK KAVUMA & THE BANGER FACTORY
Fast rising London trumpeter Mark Kavuma celebrates the fifties Miles Davis "Birth of the Cool' period with his group The Banger Factory.
Despite being released in 1957, the actual 'Birth of the Cool' recordings stem from 1949 and 1950 when Miles Davis assembled a nonet including future stars Lee Konitz, Max Roach, Gerry Mulligan, and John Lewis.
The album was seen as a departure from the Be-Bop style that was predominant in that period towards a "West Coast Jazz" or "Cool Jazz" sound.
Along with the songs from this album, Mark Kavuma and the Banger Factory will also be performing music from other Miles Davis albums of the period including "Kind of Blue", "Round About Midnight" and more.
