Bass playing legend Jah Wobble has been instrumental in the development of post punk. His creative energy and boundless talent has seen him form incredible band Public Image Limited and develop into an unmissable live artist.

Come see a living post punk legend for yourself. Jah Wobble’s Invaders Of The Heart play at Jazz Café in London on Wednesday 25th of January, 2017.

They will also play The Wardrobe at Leeds and Ruby Lounge at Manchester in May and then Hare And Hounds in Birmingham during June.

Jah Wobble tickets are on sale through Gigantic right now so book before they are gone.

John Joseph Wardle had made initial forays into music in the 70’s with the band The Four Johns which would include his good friend John Lydon who would later become better known as Johnny Rotten and John Simon Richie aka Sid Vicious. Initially trying out the guitar, he found the bass was more suited to his build and aggressive temperament. Wardle and Lydon would experiment together but the rise of Sex Pistols would hinder this, although Richie/Vicious would bestow him the moniker Wobble which developed into Jah Wobble.

Following the implosion of Sex Pistols, Lydon returned to Wardle and began to explore new musical avenues - particularly reggae and dub. Drawing on the deconstruction of punk but embracing wider reaching artistic creativity, they started Public Image, later to become Public Image Ltd (PiL), in May 1978 whose formation heralded the creation of post punk. Their incredible output included the avant-garde albums Public Image: First Issue, Metal box and The Flowers Of Romance. The band split in 1992 but reformed in 2009 and continues to perform and record new material.

Before the split, Wardle had already formed Invaders Of The Heart in 1987. The soon released the highly successful live album Without Judgement which enabled to enjoy a solo career which continues.

Jah Wobble’s Invaders Of The Heart concert tickets are in limited supply and given his cult status they are expected to sell very quickly. Book now before they are all gone.
