About Henry's Funeral Shoe

Henry's Funeral Shoe are a blues rock two-piece band from South Wales. Made up of the two brothers with Aled Clifford proving vocals and guitar and Brenning Clifford on drums.

The pair did audition for a bassist upon their formation in 2008 but discovered that they didn’t need one and the dynamic worked perfectly well, if not better, without on and so the decision was made to remain as two members.

The brother’s debut album was released in 2009 and named Everything’s For Sale. It featured the two massive singles Down The Line and Don’t Lose The Rhythm.

Their second album Donkey Jacket was recorded in Wales by Tim Hammill but mixed in Detroit by Jim Diamond. It was released in 2011 to great acclaim in the independent music press.

Some of the blackest guitar and drum work to come out of Wales, in fact the blackest thing from the Valleys since Anthracite was first mined. ” - Chris Phillips / BRMF

There are shades of Peter Green in the guitar playing, and the sparse vocals have the rough-and-ready force of guttural blues shouters such as the proto-rock ‘n’ roller Big Joe Turner. - Hyperbolium

“When they crank up the riffing or let rip with some high-octane slide, it’s as transporting as anything by post-Mississippi Fred McDowell". - PopMatters

Henry's Funeral Shoe tickets are available through the Gigantic website.

See them headline at The Globe in Cardiff on Saturday 13th of August.

Concert tickets are on sale right now. Always book early to avoid disappointment.
