About Hawthorne Heights

Hawthorne Heights are an emo influenced rock band from Dayton, Ohio. The band is famous for their huge hit singles including Pens & Needles, Ohio Is For Lovers and the phenomenal song Saying Sorry, which saw the band shoot to #7 in the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Hawthorne Heights are currently comprised of lead vocals and rhythm guitarist JT Woodruff, vocals and bass from Matt Ridenour, lead guitarist Mark McMillion also providing vocals and Chris Popadak on drums.

Formally named A Day In The Life, the band changed their name after successive line-up changes which drastically affected the sound. Once settled on their sound and a more permanent roster, Hawthorne Heights started in 2001.

Their first album, The Silence In Black And White, was released in 2004 through Victory Records. Recorded in only four weeks, the record showed remarkable emotional depth and song writing talent which resonated immediately with audiences and saw the band outsell veteran band Taking Back Sunday upon release. The record went gold and continues to sell extremely well.

Their second album was entitled If Only You Were Lonely and was also released through Victory Records in 2006. The record saw the band rise high in the charts, also selling gold, hitting #1 on the Billboard's Independent Albums chart and #3 in the Billboard 200 charts.

The band released a third album, Fragile Future in 2008, and a compilation album, Midwesterners: The Hits in 2010, through Victory Records.

The band’s success continued with the release of the 2010 album Skeletons. Released through the label Wind-Up Records, the album saw the band hit #50 in the Billboard 200.

Keen to explore new artistic territory the band aimed to release three EPs. The first two of which 2011’s Hate and 2012’s Hope were released through their own label Cardboard Empire. The third EP Hurt was finally released in 2015.

The band’s latest album, Zero was released in 2013 through Red River Entertainment.
