About Guitar Wolf

Guitar Wolf is a Japanese garage rock and punk band known for their raw, high-energy sound and explosive live performances. Formed in 1987 in Nagasaki, the band consists of frontman and guitarist Seiji (Guitar Wolf), bassist Gotz (Bass Wolf), and drummer Toru (Drum Wolf). Their music is heavily inspired by classic punk, garage rock, and rockabilly, often described as "jet rock 'n' roll" due to its loud, distorted, and chaotic nature.

With a distinct aesthetic influenced by rockabilly culture, biker gangs, and vintage rock 'n' roll, Guitar Wolf has cultivated a cult following worldwide. Their breakthrough came with albums like Planet of the Wolves (1997) and Jet Generation (1999), which helped introduce their uncompromising, lo-fi punk sound to international audiences. The band has toured extensively across the globe, bringing their high-octane performances to festivals and clubs alike.

Beyond their music, Guitar Wolf has also made a mark in pop culture, starring in the 1999 cult sci-fi horror film Wild Zero, which perfectly captures their over-the-top punk rock persona. With their relentless energy and dedication to keeping rock 'n' roll alive, Guitar Wolf remains a beloved force in the underground punk scene.
