The Lemonheads have returned with a superb new single “Fear Of Living” and a stellar B side "Seven Out”, which are out now via Fire Records.
The first new material from The Lemonheads and Evan Dando in years, these new tracks arrive in support of Evan Dando’s upcoming solo tour that begins in October.
“Fear Of Living” is a reflective upbeat slice of perfect pop with a grittier Evan at the helm and a riff that’s plucked from the very heart of rock ‘n’ roll. Evan played all the instruments on the recording, which was recorded and produced by Apollo Nove at A9 Audio in São Paulo, Brazil. Evan is working on the first original Lemonheads album since 2006.
Another of careful choice of outsider pop, "Seven Out" is a cover of The Vaselines and Eugenius’ Eugene Kelly’s bittersweet track. Also recorded in São Paulo, the B-side sees Evan joined by Jeff Berg on bass and Erin Rae on backing vocals.

Its fifteen odd years since I've seen Evan Dando perform. I drove an hour and a half after work for this rare visit, and on a school night. I was thinking about sacking it off as I don't go out much but I'm glad I didn't because he totally BLEW MY MIND! He was supported by the MIGHTY QUINN, who was frankly a bit shit and looked a bit like Robin Asquith from a distance. But he surely tried. Reading between the lines I think he was a fan of the Lemonheads - but I'm not sure. Evan Dando himself was TRES BON! He gave a good hour and a half, and weirdly I preferred the country stuff he did towards the end. It seems my Indie kid heart has faded. It was rough around the edges - I don't think either himself or his accomplice for the night Marianna were worried about too much polish. I especially liked the ending where she was going for the big note to finish and Dando was already packing his bags to go. BRILLIANT! Can't wait to see how it goes in another Fifteen years.
