About Atari Teenage Riot

In world of lying politicians and corporate greed, where neo Nazism is on the rise and those that dare to speak the truth are ruthlessly silenced you would think that more so-called punk and agitational musicians would take up the challenge and start the fight back. But instead we are traded platitudes of rebellion through merchandise and posturing.

Berlin based digital hardcore band Atari Teenage Riot are the real thing. Screaming anarchist slogans and taking the fight right to the doors of the guilty, Alec Empire and Nic Endo fuse industrial metal and hardcore techno blasted out of Atari ST computers to create the most intense music on the planet. Start the riot - let’s go!

They have a newly announced UK date taking place at O2 Academy Islington in London on Thursday 2nd of May 2019.

Formed as an attack of the emerging Neo Nazi subculture in Germany, Atari Teenage Riot originally comprised of Alec Empire, Hanin Elias and MC Carl Crack. Refusing to compromise, their intentions were made clear through songs like Hetzjagd Auf Nazis! / Hunt Down the Nazis!

Despite the controversy, Atari Teenage Riot were signed in 1993. Making good on their anarchist politics, they used the money fronted by the label to surreptitiously create their own label Digital Hardcore Recordings through which they released debut album Delete Yourself! Internationally.

They were joined by noise soundscape artist Nic Endo as a fourth member and in 1997 and released follow up album The Future Of War.

By 1999, tensions were beginning to flare. Although they had released the scorching album 60 Second Wipe Out which exposed many to their blistering sound for the first time, the band were exhibiting problems as their live shows became more violent and chaotic with venues being set on fire. Also, Crack began exhibiting obvious signs of mental illness. Though time was taken to allow him to recuperate, his behaviour became more erratic and tragically was found dead in September 2001. Atari Teenage Riot essentially disbanded.

The band reunited in 2010 without, however, Hanin Elias with Endo providing vocals instead. They were now joined by CX KiDTRONiK and began Atari Teenage Riot 2.0 which was heralded by the release of the album Is This Hyperreal?

Since the reformation, their success has continued with wild live shows and the release of fifth album Reset in 2014.
