About Alias Kid
Manchester’s Alias Kid release new single ‘Zara Henna’ on June 15th - taken from their forthcoming album ‘Revolt To Revolt’ set for release on June 8th on 359 Music through Cherry Red Records.
The band have been touring non stop since the summer of 2014and are now thrilled to confirm they will support BLACK GRAPE on their comeback tour in June/July.
Adding Manchester royalty in Shaun Ryder and Kermit to an already eclectic, and impressive, list of fans including Tom Meighan of Kasabian, Andrew ‘Loog’ Oldham and even Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero. All taken with the their shimmering Summer anthems, delivered effortlessly by duel frontmen / guitarists Maz Behdjet and Sean O'Donnell with the soaring lines of lead guitarist James Sweeney laid over the rock solid foundation of Nick Reptons bass and Colin Wards drums.
A mere 6 months after forming, and a run of typically rousing shows in Manchester and Liverpool later, Alias Kid were signed to 359 Music by Alan McGee and Simon Fletcher and also joined the roster of Creation Management. They knuckled down in the studio and the release of their debut single ‘Dirty Soul’ sent them on another rapid rise. Hearing the song played on national radio, positive words being written (and spoken about them) and most importantly more and more tour dates added to the diary! Alan McGee on his latest signing; "Alias Kid should be playing stadiums and they don't even know it. The album is amazing! They work hard and the results have been well worth it, a band that can truly get people united!”.
‘Revolt To Revolt’ was recorded at the Gorbals Sound Ltd Studios in Glasgow with Paul Quinn (Teenage Fanclub) and Kevin Burleigh (Glasvegas/Simple Minds).
