About New Crush w/ Sea Moya
Emanating from the industrial depths of Germany are the ambient beats of Sea Moya. The three-piece layer a funky bass line and ethereal vocals over a rounded percussive framework. Said framework is a product of the retrospective 21st century where the analogue inspired beats are neither technological nor organic instead occupying the middle ground between the two and forming a soundscape reminiscent of Flying Lotus-esque psychedelia.
Don’t try and pigeonhole these enigmatic soundsters as they create a pastiche that is as much Kraut-rock as it is afro-beat. Each hook presents sheer unexpectedness as the trio weave a beat that treads uncompromisingly through both the beat plains of gloom and glow. Sea Moya will release their debut EP ‘Twins’ in October, no doubt under the enigmatic moniker they’ve woven so far but you can catch them off the back of that at New Crush on the 19th October.
