Al Spx also known as Cold Specks shot to fame with her debut album #I Predict a Graceful Explusion', which landed her numerous Polaris Music Prize nominations in 2012 and the Female Artist of the Year Award at the 2013 SiriusXM Indies Awards (as well as several other nominations at the ceremony).
Cold Specks has a strong UK presence due to the Canadian singer-songwriter's residence here in London. Specks' music has been picked up by many industry taste-makers such as Jools Holland who had Cold Specks perform on ...Later with Jools Holland in 2011. Specks' music was also picked up by Moby who had her perform on two of his tracks from his 2013 album 'Innocents' and Swans also had Specks' contribute to their 2014 album 'To Be Kind'.
