Manchester Orchestra is the acclaimed indie rock band from Atalanta, Georgia. Formed in 2004, members include Andy Hull (singer-songwriter/guitar), Robert McDowell (songwriter/lead guitar), Andy Prince (bass), and Tim Very (drums).
Inspired by British indie of the 80's and 90's, their name is a homage to the huge wave of creative talent to come from North West, and draw influences from Joy Division / New Order, The Smiths, Buzzcocks, The Fall, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis and the Madchester scene.
Manchester Orchestra have released six studio albums to date, including I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child (2006), Mean Everything to Nothing (2009), Simple Math (2011), Cope (2014), A Black Mile to the Surface (2017) and The Million Masks of God (2021).
