Born in Martin Country, Kentucky, Angaleena Presley began playing guitar as a teen. After completing university she moved to Nashville Tennessee to pursue her career in music and landed a publishing deal only nine months later.

She formed the band Pistol Annies with Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe who would release the Gold certified album Hell On Heels in 2011 followed by Annie Up two years later. They continue to work together.

In 2014 Presley released her debut solo album American Middle Class which saw her nominated for
